Google Drive Transfer - Shared Drive Option

One fast way to change ownership of files you own on Viking to Enterprise is to use Shared drives.

1. Create a new Shared drive

In your Viking account, go to Shared Drives, then press: NEW

2. Name the Shared Drive

3. Manage Members

Go to the Shared Drive, click on the shared Drive Name, then press Manage Members

4. Add your K12 Enterprise Account as a Manager

5. Create a New Folder in the Shared Drive

Click on New+ >> Folder

Give the folder a name and press Create

On the Google Drive side bar, press the down arrow next to shared drives, followed by your new shared drive, and then the folder. This prepares the data transfer process for the next step.

7. Move Files to Shared Drive

Folders cannot be shared to shared drive at this time.

Select one or multiple files you own in your Viking account, then click and drag it to the Shared Drive. You can choose to use a folder you created, or upload it to the root folder.

Press Move

8. Navigate to Shared Drive in your K12 Account

You can tell it's the K12 account when you see the HIDOE logo in the top right corner next to your profile photo.

9. Move Files to My Drive

If your K12 account, move the individual files to your Drive by clicking and dragging selected files to My Drive, or to an individual folder in your drive. It is recommended you create a new folder to organize your transferred data.
